Engaging and enabling wellness in front line managers

Front line managers know all too well that they and their team have to perform every second of every day. Many will be managing not just full time people but also part time staff who perform the juggling act of balancing their different life challenges on a daily basis.  It has been shown that people employed at the front line are in fact more likely to be less well than others in the organisation.  Therefore,  the assumption that if people are at work they are well and able to perform as required, is increasingly precarious.

In order to perform successfully, Front line managers need:

* to be really well themselves, maintaining their own performance.
* to be aware of their impact on other people’s performance
* to be able to read how well their team members are – not wait until signs that someone is unwell are difficult to ignore or they resort to long term absence
* to be able to engage and effectively discuss wellness with others
* to be able to recognise the value of wellness and be able to effectively  prioritise how much time, effort, money to invest

WellKom has developed a practical and powerful way of engaging and enabling front line managers to successfully develop these capabilities.
